Varia US Properties achieves its most successful GRESB rating to date

In 2025, Varia US Properties was evaluated for the fourth time by the influential Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB). This annual assessment is guided by what investors and the real estate industry consider to be material issues in the sustainability performance of property investments; the data is used by capital providers and asset managers worldwide to benchmark investments across portfolios.

The 2025 Benchmark Report for Standing Investments results showed its so far strongest performance of Varia US in terms of Environmental, Social and Governance dimensions:

With the benchmark score of 89/100 and again a 4-star rating, Varia US achieved its strongest GRESB result so far (2024: 87/100, 2023: 83/100, 2022: 64/100).
For the third time in a row, Varia US outperformed its peer group’s average benchmark (2025: 84/100, 2024: 81/100, 2023: 79/100).
In comparison with the peer group, Varia US ranked 2nd out of 10 in the “US Listed Multifamily” category in 2025, improving from 3rd in 2024, 4th in 2023 and 8th in 2022.
Varia US has made notable year-on-year progress in key areas, including asset-level water withdrawal and energy performance: For instance, total like-for-like water performance improved by 4.8% and tenant-controlled energy performance improved by 2.4%. Furthermore, renewable energy consumption increased by 41% and electric vehicle charging consumption grew by 150%. In addition, ENERGY STAR Performance Certification was achieved for 55% of the portfolio. These results significantly outperform benchmarks and demonstrate the Company’s leadership in sustainability.

The separate 2025 Sector Insight for Residential and Public Disclosure report results showed additional strong performance:

Varia US achieved a rank of 1st of 9 to listed residential-focused peers and achieved a Performance Score of 60/70, outperforming the residential average of 52 and benchmark average of 55.
Varia US maintained a Public Disclosure Score of “A” for the 4th consecutive year.
