At its meeting today, the Government of the Czech Republic approved theconclusion of an amendment to the First Implementation Agreement oncooperation in the construction of a nuclear power plant at the DukovanysiteAt its meeting today, the Government of the Czech Republicapproved the conclusion of an amendment to the First ImplementationAgreement on cooperation in the construction of a nuclear power plant atthe Dukovany site in the Czech Republic among the Ministry of Industryand Trade, CEZ and Elektrarna Dukovany II - EDU II. The amendmentdeclares the State s requirement that added to the tender documentationof the Tender Procedure should be the right of EDU II to require thebidders (to the extent and in the manner specified by the State) also tosupply Unit 6 at the Dukovany site and Units 3 and 4 at the Temel_#237;n siteunder terms and conditions analogous to the supply of Unit 5 at theDukovany site. The strategic objective is to express to the bidders astrong interest in the construction of additional units and, thus,achieve a price reduction already for Unit 5. Furthermore, the amendmentextends the deadline for the submission of the Final Evaluation Reportby EDU II to 31 May 2024. The Tender Procedure will however still beconducted for a single unit (EDU 5). The overall construction and launchschedule remains unchanged, with the goal being to sign a contract withthe selected bidder in late 2024 or early 2025.
