Komerční banka announces the sale of 19% stake in Cataps, s.r.o.
Prague, 27 February 2018 - Komerční banka, a.s., with its registered office at Na Příkopě 33/969, 114 07 Prague 1, registration No. 45317054, entered in the register of companies maintained with the Metropolitan Court of Prague, section B, file No.1360 (hereinafter Komerční banka), announces that
it has today concluded the sale of its 19% stake in the company Cataps, s.r.o., with registered office at Lazarská 11/6, 120 00 Prague 2, registration No. 036 33 144 (Cataps) to Worldline SA/NV, with registered office at Haachtsesteenweg 1442, 1130 Brussels, Belgium (Worldline).
Cataps was established in 2014 as a 100% subsidiary of Komerční banka and it had assumed activities of Komerční banka in credit and debit card payment processing services (merchant acquiring). Komerční banka sold the 80% stake in Cataps to Worldline in September 2016, as a step in forming KB SmartPay alliance between Komerční banka and Worldline for development of card payment processing services for merchants in the Czech Republic. Both parties of the alliance also agreed to provide Komerční banka with option to sell an additional stake in Cataps to Worldline.
Upon conclusion of the transaction announced today, Komerční banka holds a remaining stake of 1% in Cataps. Komerční banka and Worldline will continue closely co-operating within KB SmartPay alliance.
