We have previously informed the public about our company's activities on the Middle Corridor and developments regarding block train services between China, Turkey and Europe and vice versa in our previous Kap announcements.
Based on the fact that it is important for all countries along the route to demonstrate their commitment to this goal in order to continue the development of the Middle Corridor, our company's senior management has held meetings with railway authorities and relevant institutions in China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia at different times. The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure also participated in some of these meetings.
As part of these efforts, on 28 July 2025, the 5th Turkey-Kazakhstan High-Level Strategic Council Meeting was held with the participation of the President of Kazakhstan and our President. Twenty new agreements were signed at this meeting to strengthen inter-country cooperation, one of which is the ‘Cooperation and Business Development Agreement for Freight Transportation via the Middle Corridor Railway Route.' The parties to this agreement are TCDD Transportation Inc., Kazakhstan Railways KTZ, Pacific Eurasia Logistics and Foreign Trade Inc., and KTZ Express (a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Railways engaged in container transportation).
The agreement aims to launch regular block train services between Turkey and Kazakhstan, increase freight traffic via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, develop two-way transport between China and Europe and China and Africa, establish competitive tariffs, and strengthen multimodal logistics infrastructure. In addition, within the scope of Digitalisation, Customs Facilitation and Joint Investments, the parties will cooperate on issues such as the promotion of joint investments, equipment and data sharing, facilitation of customs procedures, dissemination of digital solutions such as paperless document flow and container management, and sharing of information and experience.
With this agreement, it has been emphasised at the highest level that it will provide significant support in achieving the Company's previously announced target of 1,000 block trains per year between China, Turkey and Europe in the first phase. It is anticipated that this process will also make an important contribution to optimising transit times, which are the most important factor in transportation, and thereby increasing the attractiveness of the corridor.
This development supports both our country's strategy of becoming a logistics hub and our Company's goal of becoming a key player in the BTK and Central Corridor. Developments in this regard will continue to be shared with our investors and the public.
Best regards,
