Lufthansa posts an operating profit of EUR251 million for first 9 months 2004

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Lufthansa posts an operating profit of EUR251 million for first 9 months 2004 Despite the high oil price level, the Lufthansa Group earned an operating profit of EUR218 million in the third quarter of 2004 (2003: EUR200 million). For the period from January to September this gives a cumulative positive operating result of EUR251 million (2003: -EUR154 million). The result after taxes comes to EUR164 million (2003: -EUR409 million). For 2004 as a whole Lufthansa continues to expect an operating profit of around EUR300 million.
