(PSA). This is one of the biggest contracts ever in Dürr’s history, encompassing the planning, engineering, construction and installation of a turnkey paint shop at the plant in Mulhouse. As a reference project, known as “UPM 2000”, the plant will set new standards for quality, environmental safety and productivity within the Peugeot Citroen Group. More than 100 very flexible Dürr paint robots will be used for the application of environmentally friendly powder base coats. Commissioning of the innovative paint lines, in which more than 1,800 vehicles of the model series 206 and 307 will be painted daily in three shifts, will take place in several steps between October 2003 and June 2004. Dürr is breaking new ground in the partnerlike cooperation with Peugeot Citroen. The project will, for example, be backed by the Peugeot Citroen project management system “Protocole” to reduce technical risks and to shorten engineering times. Dürr’s Services business unit has a good chance of winning contracts with terms extending over several years to provide maintenance services to the new paint shop. This is the first time that Peugeot Citroen is outsourcing these services to an external specialist. The Dürr Technology Group is one of the world’s leading suppliers of manufacturing systems and manufacturing support services for the automobile industry and its suppliers. The French operation Dürr AIS was taken over completely from Alstom in May 2001, after a major shareholding had been acquired in the year 2000. In the five operative business units Paint Systems, Final Assembly Systems, Ecoclean, Services and Measuring Systems, Dürr employs approx. 12,500 people, and is active with operations in over 25 countries. end of ad-hoc-announcement (c)DGAP 21.01.2002 ——————————————————————————– WKN: 556520; ISIN: DE0005565204; Index: MDAX Listed: Amtlicher Handel in Frankfurt und Stuttgart; Freiverkehr in Berlin, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover und München 210748 Jän 02
