Dürr reports a strong fourth quarter in 2010
Bietigheim-Bissingen, February 1, 2011 - On the basis of the preliminary
figures, Dürr's Group sales were up 17% to EUR 1,260 million in fiscal
2010. EBIT advanced from EUR 5.7 million to EUR 33 million; earnings after
tax came to approximately EUR 6 million after a loss of EUR 25.7 million in
the previous year. Order intake was up 38% to EUR 1,640 million and is back
to the pre-crisis level. The fourth quarter of 2010 was by far the best
quarter for years, with incoming orders of EUR 540 million. Orders on hand
reached EUR 1,360 million at the end of 2010 (+36%). All these figures for
2010 clearly exceed the capital market's expectations. The Board of
Management expects that a dividend payment can be resumed for 2010.
The main drivers for the better-than-expected performance were the
continued strong demand in the emerging markets, higher capacity
utilization, and much improved earnings contributions from services and
machinery business. Dürr will be reporting on the 2010 results and on the
outlook for 2011 on February 23, 2011. All figures are preliminary and have
not been audited.
