Dürr once again recognized as 'Top Employer Automotive'
Bietigheim-Bissingen, October 18, 2012 - Dürr remains one of the top
employers among the parts and equipment suppliers serving the German
automotive industry. The mechanical and plant engineering firm came sixth
out of the 22 finalists in the prestigious 'Top Employer Automotive
2012/13' ranking. The Group thus confirmed the good result of the 2010/2011
ranking, when Dürr first took part in the competition's 'Automotive'
category.
Dürr scored particularly well in the categories of remuneration system,
innovation management, corporate culture and work-life balance. The
MDAX-listed company achieved top marks in all four areas. In the
remuneration system category, which covers, e.g., salary structure and
transparency as well as pension benefits, Dürr attained the highest score
of all 22 finalists. Dürr also performed very well in the other categories
- career opportunities as well as training and development.

The Dürr Group has approximately 3,300 employees at ten locations in
Germany. Bietigheim-Bissingen and Darmstadt are the largest German
locations with around 1,750 and 500 employees, respectively. As an
engineering company, Dürr is particularly attractive to engineers in the
fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, IT and process
engineering, as well as to industrial engineers and business economists.
The Group has a strong international focus and employs around 7,300 people
in 23 countries around the world. In 2011, two thirds of Dürr's incoming
orders were generated in the emerging markets of the automotive industry,
including China, India, Brazil and Mexico.
Dürr is a mechanical and plant engineering group that holds leading
positions in the world market in its areas of operation. It generates a
good 80% of its sales in business with the automotive industry. It also
supplies the aircraft, machinery, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries
with innovative production and environmental technology. The Dürr Group
operates in the market with four divisions. Paint and Assembly Systems
plans and builds paintshops and final assembly systems for the automobile
and aircraft industry. Application Technology provides automated paint
application, sealing, and glueing with its robot technologies. Machinery
and systems from the Measuring and Process Systems division are used in
balancing and cleaning processes, in engine and transmission manufacturing
and in final vehicle assembly, among other areas. The fourth division,
Clean Technology Systems, is focused on processes to improve energy
efficiency and on exhaust air purification technology. The Dürr Group
achieved sales of EUR 1.9 billion in 2011.
