The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– E.ON further enlarges Ruhrgas interest In early 2002 E.ON AG, Düsseldorf, will acquire Düsseldorf-based Vodafone AG’s 23.6 percent stake in Bergemann GmbH. This shareholding corresponds to about 8.2 percent of Ruhrgas. The purchase price is 850 million euros plus pro-rata dividends for the current financial year. The transaction must be approved by E.ON’s Supervisory Board. E.ON and BP reached an agreement in July for E.ON to acquire 51 percent of Gelsenberg, a BP subsidiary, in early 2002 as part of a capital increase.
