BOV publishes figures for 3rd quarter and first nine months of 2003
In the first nine months of 2003 BOV Aktiengesellschaft managed to further
improve its earnings as compared with same period last year despite the low
level of revenues. Because of the summer holiday period sales revenues and
earnings for the third quarter lagged behind the figures for the second quarter.
In the third quarter of 2003 the BOV Group recorded a total operating
performance of EUR 4.3 million. As expected, this figure was lower than for the
second quarter. In the first nine months of 2003 a total operating performance
of EUR 14.3 million was generated. The EBITDA earnings for the third quarter of
2003 at – EUR 654 thousand were below the level of earnings in the second
quarter due to the effects of the holiday period but still represent an
improvement of 45% in comparison with the same quarter last year. Earnings for
the first nine months in EBITDA terms amounted to – EUR 1,227 thousand, i.e. 55%
higher than in the previous year. The trend in improved earnings was obtained
despite lower sales revenues.
An increase in total operating performance and operational earnings can be
expected in all business units for the fourth quarter as compared with the
figures for the preceding quarter. The positive effects of the improvement in
the cost structures in all sectors ought to be having an even more intensive
impact by then.
