September 2000 mit Wirkung zum 1. Oktober in den Vorstand der ELMOS Semiconductor AG mit Sitz in Dortmund berufen und übernimmt zukünftig die Geschäftsbereiche Entwicklung und Vertrieb von automobilen Halbleiterchips. Thoma war als Leiter des Bereiches Entwicklung Elektrik-Elektronik der BMW-Group in München tätig. Damit kennt er aus Kunden- und Anwendersicht die Technologiekompetenz von ELMOS seit mehr als zehn Jahren. Seine langjährige Erfahrung in der Kfz-Elektronik und die vertrauensvolle Zusammenarbeit mit System- und Komponentenlieferanten bieten eine ideale Bereicherung für den weiteren kontinuierlichen Ausbau des weltweiten automobilen Kerngeschäfts der ELMOS-Gruppe. “Insbesondere der amerikanische Markt bietet ELMOS ein signifikantes Wachstumspotential, das es zu erschließen gilt,” so Dr. Thoma. He will be responsible for development and sales of automobile semiconductor chips. Thoma was head of the department electrical and electronics development of the BMW Group in Munich. He knows the technology competence of ELMOS for more than ten years from a customers and users point of view.
