The quarterly results of the ELMOS Semiconductor AG shows significant improvements compared to the previous quarter Q4/01. In fact, the quarterly sales increased by more than 10% versus Q4/01 to approximately EUR 25.6 millions. The gross profit rose to EUR 11.9 millions (Q4/01: EUR 9.5 millions, plus 25%). Therefore, the gross margin reached a value of approximately 46% of sales. This is indeed remarkable, as the costs for the integration of the subsidiaries of approximately EUR 1.6 millions are included. Strong investments in future technologies and products are reflected by the high expenditures for research and development. They peaked to approximately EUR 4.7 millions (18% of sales). Nevertheless, the pre-tax-profit increased by a factor of three compared with the previous quarter improving to EUR 2.6 millions (Q4/01: EUR 0.8 million). The quarterly net income rose to EUR 1.6 million or about 6% of sales. Earnings per share ended up with EUR 0.08.
