LED drivers, current sensor, and network semiconductors

At the trade show SPS/IPC/Drives 2011, ELMOS introduces solutions for power
efficient systems. The product portfolio ranges from LED drivers and
current sensors to network semiconductors for partial network operation.
The semiconductors and sensors have consistently been developed for low
power consumption in connection with the highest degree of precision.
SPS/IPC/Drives is Europe's leading trade show for electric automation.

ELMOS presents a new LED controller family (E522.3x chips). The ICs are
designed for input voltages between 5V and 55V and an output voltage of up
to 60V in boost mode, and they can control one or two LED chains -
depending on the type. In addition to high robustness, the components offer
a great variety in the selection of circuit topologies to be used. They can
be integrated into boost, SEPIC, buck-boost, or buck topologies. The
switching frequency can be adjusted to up to 600kHz by means of an external
resistor or synchronized with other components in master-slave
configuration.

The current sensor E524.50 facilitates contactless and thus galvanically
isolated measurement of direct currents, alternating currents, and impulse
currents. The measuring principle is based on anisotropic magnetoresistance
(the so-called AMR effect). The component distinguishes itself by its high
bandwidth (from DC to up to 500 kHz), enabling e.g. the monitoring of
IGBT-based power inverters by means of overcurrent detection which is
integrated already. The fact that it is free of hysteresis and the
compensation principle applied warrant high precision.

ELMOS has introduced the first chip worldwide (E520.13) for partial network
operation. The chip makes it possible to activate control units
individually whenever their functionality is required. High energy savings
can thus be achieved. This chip ensures that partial network transceivers
as well as conventional high-speed CAN transceivers can be operated
together in one network (interoperability).

SPS/IPC/Drives 2011 takes place at Messe Nuremberg from 11/22 to
11/24/2011. You will find ELMOS in hall 3 at stand 3-139.

ELMOS Semiconductor AG is a developer and manufacturer of system solutions
on semiconductor basis. For more than 25 years, our chips have made
automobiles as well as industrial and consumer goods more performance and
power efficient.
