Energiekontor increases turnover in the first quarter by 179 percent Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Direction taken by the revised business plan is justified Energiekontor increases turnover in the first quarter by 179 percent Bremen, 29th May 2002. Energiekontor AG earned sales revenue amounting to EUR 14,136 million in the first three months of the current financial year (01.01. to 31.03.2002). In comparison with the corresponding period in the previous year this means that the company managed to increase its turnover by about 179% (31.03.2001: EUR 5,074 million). The earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to EUR 772,000. The earnings from ordinary activities amounted to EUR 1.008 million, (31.03.2001: EUR 57,000). The net earnings at 31.03.2002 amounted to EUR 724,000 (31.03.2001: 41,000). The earnings per share amounted to EUR 0,05 (31.03.2001: 0,00). In spite of part of the market being difficult as a result of the change in the manner in which authorisation was granted for wind farms in the previous year and delays in projects occurring as a result, Energiekontor AG managed to achieve its internal objectives for the first quarter of 2002. As a result three wind farms were constructed on a turnkey basis as planned and work was commenced on the sale of one of them. Above and beyond this, the sales preparations were completed for the first Energiekontor wind farm outside Germany in the period under review. This Greek wind farm was likewise sold in May after the period under review. Energiekontor AG confirms that it will fulfil its plans for the financial year 2002. The objective is to achieve a turnover of EUR 138 million and an EBIT of EUR 14.1 million. The growth of the Energiekontor group should amount to about 30% annually in the coming years with an EBIT margin of 10 to 11%.
