The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Silicon Sensor will reach positive Earnings in fiscal year 2001 Uninterrupted strong growth at Silicon Sensor Consolidated turnover more than doubled The turnover in the silicon sensor group went up by 117% from 2.3 mill Euro (II / 2000) up to 5 mill Euro (II / 2001) and in doing so confirms the ambitious plans for the financial year 2001. The EBITDA went up by 606% from 120 KEuro (II / 2000) to 848 KEuro (II / 2001). After goodwill, the EBIT went up by 348 KEuro from -210 KEuro (II / 2000) to 138 KEuro (II / 2001). This means that for the first time the expenditure for additional growth in the applications area (Silicon Instruments GmbH) and expansion in the USA (Pacific Silicon Sensor Inc.) were under control for the first time as well. The executive board is not expecting the growth of the group to slacken off in the second half of 2001. The profit per share in this financial year is still expected to be 0.14 Euro. Then in 2002 the expansion in the American market should be fully under control and the profit per share should increase up to 0.5 Euro per share. The consolidated net loss after tax, interest and extraordinary costs for capital increase dropped down to -0.24 mill Euro (II / 2000: -0.28 mill Euro) and will be changed into a positive result at the end of the year. The backlog of orders in the group at the end of the second quarter 2001 went up by 100% from 3.98 mill Euro to 8 mill Euro. At the end of july the bachlog of orders went up to 9.5 mill Euro.
