Silicon Sensor raised turnover and earnings
August 27, 2003
The Silicon Sensor groups attained a solid growth tempo in the first six month
of the 2003 business year, despite the fact that overall economic framework
conditions have continued to worsen since the end of the business year. We are
able to report positive business performance. As compared to the same time
period in the previous year, turnover rose by 3 % from Euro 6.1 mn to Euro 6.3
mn.
EBITDA decreased by a littleness of Euro 123,000 from Euro 1,253 mn (June 30,
2002) to Euro 1,130 mn (June 30, 2003). The operating result EBIT is like the
same as in the further reporting period. EBIT decreased only by Euro 9,000 from
Euro 581,000 (June 30, 2002) to Euro 572,000 (June 30, 2003). Earnings after
interest and taxes rose by 2 % from Euro 413,000 (June 30, 2002) to Euro 421,000
(June 30, 2003). Earnings per share totalled Euro 0.19 during the reporting
period, were also approximately the same as compared to the same time period in
the previous year (June 30, 2002: Euro 0.20).
The groups orders on hand were stabilizied on the same value like first quarter.
We hope, that we can increase the orders on hand in the third quarter.
A Highlight was the start of the european mars mission Mars Express. On board of
the mars mission is a High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC), buildt up by our
company Lewicki microelectronic GmbH.
