In the late evening of September 16, 2005 Silicon Sensor Group took over the Microelectronic Packaging Dresden GmbH, registered at the district court Dresden under HRB 13726, from the Zentrum Mikroelektronik Dresden AG. In comparison to Silicon Sensor, MPD is also a fast growing high-tech company. Already about 40 % of the sales are generated from automobile industrie supplying – an interesting field for Silicon Sensor. The succsesfull acquisition of MPD GmbH is advantageous for the Silicon Sensor Group in many ways: First Silicon Sensor will reach a higher stage of production with the packaging capacities of MPD in the field of serial production.
