To this end, two strategic partnership contracts have just been concluded, namely with Hewlett Packard as hardware supplier and LeCare as software manufacturer. FORIS sees these partnerships as a further step to realizing a central lawyers’ portal and hence the possibility of distributing its own products and services over the Internet. A leading financier of legal proceedings, FORIS AG has designed – in collaboration with Hewlett Packard – a lawyer’s PC customized for the requirements of law offices. Numerous contents of great use for everyday practice are pre-installed on the lawyer’s PC, and the lawyer can access offers from FORIS AG directly via a customized browser. The PC will go on sale on March 9. LeCare is the first software house to offer software with fully integrated database linkage such that it does not have to be installed on the individual workstations of a network but can be fully utilized over the Internet (ASP). It enables the lawyer to access his or her office and documents from anywhere in the world; this is very attractive both for individual lawyers as well for internationally networked firms of lawyers. All program updates are performed via the Internet. The program will also include the service offers and information databases of FORIS AG. Fourteen years of software development for legal applications has gone into the program.
