At the closing of the past year, the FORIS AG was able to increase its turnover by 877% to 43.3 million DM. 2. The number of requests for litigation financing rose by approximately 40% in comparison to the previous year. By the closing of the year, the FORIS AG financed 222 legal proceedings with a cumulative amount in dispute of 238 million DM and a participation volume of 86.3 million DM. The participation volume reflects the maximum possible participation proceeds from the entire legal proceedings being financed. 3. The sale of newly incorporated and completely unencumbered public limited companies (stock corporations) and private limited companies was increased in 2000 to 562 companies (previous year: 30). 4. With the acquisition of Medizin.Recht.de, the Complex GmbH with the djn-Deutschen Juristischen Nachrichtendienst, the participation in QSearch, the founding of the FORIS Akademie, the commencement of the FORIS Translation Service, the entering into of a cooperation agreement with the Creditreform, as well as the further development of the Internet portal for legal professionals at www.foris.de. the financial year was marked with rapid expansion. 5. The taking on of new litigation financing cases also gave rise, in addition to court and lawyers fees, to noncapitalized costs of acquisition, examination and administration of such files. These investments in new proceedings, which can only produce income once the court proceedings have been concluded, have led to a net annual loss for the FORIS AG of 6.9 million DM. The combined group of companies, in view of the aforementioned acquisitions, reports a net annual loss in the amount of 7.9 million DM. 6. The FORIS AG predicts positive annual results for 2001. Due to the forseeable conclusion of numerous court proceedings stemming from the past years, the break even point can be attained in the core business area of litigation financing. In this respect, net revenues from litigation financing in the amount of 7 million DM are being calculated. In addition, the company expects operating results of over 3 million DM in the business area of shelf companies.
