DM – Profit before tax grows even stronger, increasing by 64% to 1,860 Mio. DM Aschheim n. Munich, February 26,2001. FORTEC Elektronik AG, Aschheim, is showing unbroken growth during the first half of the current FY 2000/2001 (July 1 until December 31, 2000). All key figures are above plan and previous years figures. Sales grew by 56%, increasing from 18,4 Mio. DM to 28,7 Mio. DM. With an increase from 20,5 Mio. DM to 31,6 Mio. DM, order entry was similarly strong. Increase in profits, however, is showing the strongest dynamics once more, with earnings before tax growing by 64 % to 1,860 Mio. DM. This solid over-plan profit performance makes FORTEC one of the companies on the Neuer Markt with the strongest profit growth dynamics. The strong growth in sales was based on a continuing robust market for investment into industrial equipment that all spheres of the FORTEC business could take further market share from. The core business Embedded Solutions grew from 16,0 Mio. DM to 24,9 Mio. DM, which power supplies could contribute the largest share to with a sales increase of 75% to 14,6 Mio. DM. The other part of the core, displays and embedded computers increased by 2,6 Mio. DM to 10,3 Mio. DM. The other area of business, chip brokerage, has also developed favorably, increasing by 1,4 Mio. DM to 3,8 Mio. DM. Here alone, order entry was 4.1 Mio. DM which gives reason to expect a continuation of the positive trend in FORTEC’s chip brokerage business.
