Birkenwerder, 7 August 2009. Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG, a global
service provider for the outbound mail market, has concluded an extensive
agreement on the protection of sites with its employee representatives and
IG Metall. The extensive package of measures, which to essentially consist
of content renouncement of the employee and short-time work, can lead a job
warranty for the persons employed according to today's estimate in the
FP-group in the coming two years to cost savings at a value of up to EUR 9
millions and contained in response for the duration of 24 months.
The Management Board and executives of the FP Group are also making a
significant contribution to the necessary reduction in staff costs. The
agreement on the protection of sites has been concluded by the Management
Board of Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG and the management of the German
subsidiaries Francotyp-Postalia GmbH, Francotyp-Postalia Vertrieb und
Service GmbH and FP Direkt Vertriebs GmbH.
The agreement on the protection of sites is still subject to approval by
the Supervisory Board of Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG In detail, it
includes the following terms, among others:
* Conclusion of a works agreement on the introduction of short-time work
for a maximum period of 2 years, beginning on 1 August 2009Employees
covered by collective pay agreements to forego approximately 10% of pay by
* conclusion of a tariff agreement for the economical protection of the
companies Francotyp-Postalia GmbH, Francotyp-Postalia Vertrieb und Service
GmbH and FP Direkt Vertriebs GmbH
* Employees not covered by collective pay agreements to forego 15% of pay
* Reduction of renumeration for members of the Management Board by 20%
* No compulsory redundancies within the next 24 months

have achieved are an important contribution to the future of our company in
Germany and will allow us to take measures that lead to competitive
structures, in order to equip the company for the future,' says Hans
Szymanski, a member of the FP Management Board. The company employs a total
of 660 staff in Germany, 380 of whom are based at its headquarters in
Birkenwerder. In the last few months, the Management Board has pressed
ahead with the realignment of the FP Group as a mail management provider
and the restructuring required for this and has already achieved
considerable cost savings by streamlining research and development and
administration.
