FP on growth course in Asia
- FP Asia celebrates official opening of its new office
- FP is a pioneer with the first production of franking machines in
Singapore
Singapore, October 2, 2009. Francotyp-Postalia Asia Pte Ltd, a subsidiary
of Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG, celebrated the official introduction of
its new office in Singapore and took this opportunity to highlight the
growth potential of the Asian markets. The ceremony was attended by more
than 40 high-calibre guests, among them representatives of the Singapore
Economy Development Board (EDB), Singapore Post, german Embassy and german
Chamber of Commerce. EDB is responsible for promoting industries of the
future in the City State and has supported FP in many ways in the past
months. The opening ceremony was hosted by Marc Sempell, General Manager of
Francotyp-Postalia Asia and Andreas Drechsler, member of the Management
Board of the Francotyp-Postalia Group.
The new 1,400 sqft office centralizes Production, Procurement (for the
production sites in Germany and Singapore), regional Sales and
Administration, which were operating in different locations in Singapore in
the past. The strategic move to the new location optimizes the internal
processes. At the same time, the new office offers the necessary size and
infrastructure for Francotyp-Postalia Asia's growth plan.
Asia is identified as the growth market for the FP Group with a huge
potential for the sale of franking machines and innovative solutions for
outbound mail. Therefore, the Sales Department will significantly
strengthen its presence in Asia with new partners and customers. The new
production site is designed for optimal work processes and has room for
further extension. 'We will offer our production capabilities to other
manufacturers. The target is to clearly increase our production volume and
to produce at least one complete franking machine here in Singapore in the
near future,' explained Marc Sempell. Among all worldwide manufacturers of
franking machines the FP Group is the only one with a production in
Singapore.
FP board member Andreas Drechsler explains: 'It is now the right time to
invest and to expand in Singapore. The global recession seems to come to an
end and more and more enterprise customers are starting to invest again.
The new upswing will be led by Asia and so we are happy to be here right
now. The new infrastructure with this new all-in-one office will
excellently support our growth plan here in Singapore and in Asia.'
