Francotyp-Postalia to award De-Mail Innovation Award at CeBIT

  • First De-Mail provider names municipal IT service provider Citkomm '2013 Pioneer'
  • Award to be awarded at FP trade fair stand on 5 March 2013

Birkenwerder, 5 February 2013. During this year's CeBIT in Hanover, the Francotyp-Postalia Group will award the first De-Mail Award for innovation to a company that has made an outstanding contribution to supporting the proliferation of the legally secure digital letter. At CeBIT 2012, FP subsidiary Mentana-Claimsoft was the first company in Germany to receive De-Mail accreditation from the German Federal Office for Information Security. The winner of the '2013 Pioneer' prize is municipal IT service provider CitKomm based in Iserlohn. The prize will be awarded on 5 March 2013 at the FP trade fair stand (D08) in Hall 3 at 2:00 p.m. A panel discussion will then take place with experts from the industry.

CitKomm, which primarily works with municipalities and non-profit organisations in North Rhine-Westphalia, identified the opportunities offered by De-Mail early on, which would enable simple and legally secure communication between citizens and public authorities. Thanks to its own initiatives, including YouTube videos and online interviews, CitKomm made the solution accessible to potential customers and within a short period of time, succeeded in winning over its first customer – the district of Hochsauerland. 'We need pioneers in order to help overcome any remaining concerns people may have,' explains Andreas Drechsler, member of the Management Board of the FP Group, explaining the company's decision. 'CitKomm also provides a perfect example of how an innovative solution can be integrated seamlessly into the existing infrastructure and processes of a municipality.'

With its De-Mail solutions, the FP Group has set a benchmark for the mail communication of the future. These solutions combine the properties of a binding paper letter with the time advantage of an e-mail, thereby accelerating customers' processes significantly. 'In our highly networked and digital society, De-Mail will become the new standard letter with considerable time and cost advantages,' explains Drechsler, member of the FP Management Board.

Since its accreditation as the first De-Mail provider at CeBIT 2012, the FP Group has already persuaded a number of companies of the benefits of legally secure, electronic mail communication. Here, Mentana-Claimsoft scores points thanks to services including the option to implement a multi-client De-Mail gateway. This allows every customer to be individually authorised to use De-Mail services without the requirement of an additional installation in the data centre. Citkomm also relies on this intelligent and cost-effective solution.
