Deutsche Rentenversicherung: offering its customers De-Mail communication since 1 October

Numerous benefits for customers
Company uses Francotyp-Postalia gateway

Birkenwerder, 23 October 2013 – Deutsche Rentenversicherung has been offering its customers the option of securely transferring messages and documents in electronic form via De-Mail since 1 October. The pension insurance institution is using the De-Mail gateway of Francotyp-Postalia subsidiary Mentana-Claimsoft to do this.

Numerous benefits for customers

The provision of the new service opens up numerous benefits for customers of Deutsche Rentenversicherung. De-Mail provides the option of sending confidential documents and messages in an encrypted, protected and verifiable manner. The electronic procedure means that policyholders do not have to depend on opening times. What is more, the process of sending messages and documents is fast and affordable. Users save on costs for printing, paper and materials. At the same time, De-Mail is just as easy to operate as an e-mail but offers a considerably higher level of security.

FP’s De-Mail offer in use

Deutsche Rentenversicherung is using FP’s De-Mail gateway to provide the new communication service. In May, the subsidiary of the FP Group won the De-Mail invitation to tender of Germany’s national statutory pension insurance company.

‘We are pleased that Deutsche Rentenversicherung has chosen us. We are certain that De-Mail harbours major potential for the medium and long term,’ explains Hans Szymanski, CEO and CFO of Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG. The recent IT security debate is generating additional momentum. And the further digitisation progresses, the greater the demand becomes for documents to be sent in a secure and confidential manner. ‘In our daily work, our primary focus is on working together with the companies to define the processes. While the number of De-Mails being sent is still manageable, a growing number of companies are becoming aware of the benefits of this form of communication. We estimate the medium-term De-Mail market potential to exceed 500 million De-Mails per year. And we are striving to achieve a market share of around 10%,’ says Szymanski.
