freenet.de AG / Hamburg – In today’s mobilcom AG supervisory board session, the
governing body authorized the sale of its fixed-line business to freenet.de AG.
“This clear decision by the mobilcom supervisory board is a key step in
freenet’s proposed takeover of the fixed-line business on April 01, 2003,”
declared freenet.de AG CEO Eckhard Spoerr. The freenet.de AG supervisory board
had already given its approval for the transaction.
In February 2003, freenet.de AG and mobilcom AG had signed a preliminary
contract agreeing to the takeover of mobilcom’s fixed-line business by
freenet.de. The preliminary contract was subject to approval by the guarantors,
the lending banks and the mobilcom supervisory board. The purchase price is EUR
35 million, payable in four instalments in 2003 and 2004.
