Fresenius Medical Care reports Third Quarter 2004 results

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Fresenius Medical Care reports Third Quarter 2004 results Total revenue for the third quarter 2004 increased 12% (10% at constant currency) to US-Dollar 1,577 million. Dialysis Care revenue grew by 13% to US-Dollar 1,149 million (12% at constant currency) in the third quarter of 2004. Dialysis Product revenue (excluding internal sales) increased 9% to US-Dollar 428 million (4% at constant currency) in the same period. Operating income (EBIT) for the third quarter increased 9% to US-Dollar 214 million. Net income in the third quarter 2004 was US-Dollar 102 million, an increase of 17%. Earnings per share (EPS) in the third quarter 2004 rose also 17% to US-Dollar 1.06 per ordinary share compared to US-Dollar 0.90 in the third quarter of 2003. Total revenue for the first nine months 2004 increased 13% (10% at constant currency) to US-Dollar 4,588 million. Operating income (EBIT) was up 14% to US-Dollar 625 million. Net income rose 24% to US-Dollar 294 million in the first nine months of 2004. Net cash from operations increased 11% to US-Dollar 560 million in the first nine months of 2004. The Free Cash Flow after acquisitions was US-Dollar 343 million, up 16%. Based on the strong performance in the first nine months of 2004 the company lifts its net income guidance for the full year 2004. After expecting a net income growth for 2004 in the mid teens the Company now expects net income growth to be in the high teens. The top-line revenue growth at constant currencies should remain in the high single digit range.
