Stark has many years of international experience in top man-agement functions in mechanical and plant engineering as well as in the chemical industry. From 1991 to 2000, Stark was the CEO of AGIV AG, Frankfurt. In this function, he realigned the company’s broadly diversi-fied portfolio and created a highly profitable corporate group focused on mechanical engineering and measuring technology in which some 17,000 employees generated worldwide sales of DM 4.5 billion (approximately EUR 2.3 billion). The return on equity was over 20 percent. A change in the shareholder structure of the major shareholder BHF Bank AG led to a concentration on banking activities.
