The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Ad-hoc report on the 2001 business year (IAS) USA market up 36%, EBITDA margin 15.3%, Profit per share 26 cents, Positive prospects Geratherm Medical AG: 20.03.2001: During the 2001 business year the company succeeded in more than doubling its sales in the growth market of digital diagnostic products to 2.5 million DM. The discontinuation of the mechatronics sphere of business resulted in a 12% reduction in turnover to 14.2 million DM. On the other hand, sales in the core business of the company reached 11.5 million DM, 5.4% higher than in the previous year. The proportion of products exported by Geratherm was significantly higher than in the previous year, reaching 72% (previous year: 64%). In the important US health care market sales increased by 36%, and these now account for 22% of the company’s sales. Geratherm products are officially recommended by the American ministry of health for the mercury substitution programme currently underway in the USA. Despite discontinuation of industrial activities, it was possible to retain the operative margin (EBITDA) at 15.3%. The results of ordinary business activity increased by 34% to 1.8 million DM. The annual surplus (EAT) decreased slightly to 2.3 million DM owing to lower tax credits. The result per share is 26 cents. The company’s equity capital amounts to 3.30 EUR per share. The detailed balance-sheet data for the 2001 business year (IAS) will be published on 15.04.2002. The company expects positive developments in sales and earnings in the current business year.
