Business Development during 1st Half of 2002
Positive first six months: operational profit doubled
Geratherm Medical AG: 27th August 2002
Following a good start of the business during the 1st quarter, the positive
business development of Geratherm Medical continued during the 2nd quarter.
Given a turnover of EUR 3.2 million, up by 4.2% as compared to the same period
of last year, a distinctly higher return was achieved. The earnings before
interest and tax (EBIT) doubled to reach EUR 485,000. The result of ordinary
activities stood at EUR 547,000, more or less at the same level as the previous
year. The export share amounted to 78% (previous year: 72%).
The operational margin (EBITDA) amounted to 23.3% during the first six months
and is thus just about 6% higher as compared to the previous year. The cash flow
was increased by 37.1% to EUR 750,000. The result of the first six months of
2002 was 15 cents per share. The equity of the company amounts to EUR 3.44 per
share. The short-term cash and securities amounted to some EUR 8.2 million by
30th June 2002, as compared to EUR 7.6 million last year.
We are assuming a continuation of the positive business development for the
coming months.

for the measurement and transmission of vital medical data.
