In February 2018, the Company’s Board of Directors approved expanding its precision chemistry consumable manufacturing operations in the U.S. The Company anticipates spending an estimated $215 million to build and equip this new
state-of-the-art
manufacturing facility, and has spent $151 million on this facility through December 31, 2020.
During 2020, 2019 and 2018, the Company retired and disposed of approximately $19 million, $11 million and $9 million of property, plant and equipment, respectively, most of which was fully depreciated and no longer in use. Gains or losses on disposals were immaterial for the years ended December 31, 2020, 2019 and 2018.
