ARQUES takes over Wolfsheck paper mill and founds Salto Paper

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— ARQUES takes over Wolfsheck paper mill and founds Salto Paper Eighth acquisition of ARQUES group in 2006 Starnberg, August 25, 2006 – The Starnberg-based equity investment company, ARQUES Industries AG (ISIN DE0005156004), takes over the Wolfsheck paper mill (Black Forest) from the StoraEnso group with effect of September 1, 2006. The Wolfsheck paper mill produces wallpaper base, special papers for the building trade as well as catalogue paper for customers all over the world. The company is the world market leader in wallpaper base. The mill’s two paper manufacturing machines have a combined annual production capacity of approximately 155,000 tons. The paper mill generates revenues to the value of EUR 65 million with approximately 200 employees. ARQUES will continue the paper mill’s production programme under the name ‘Salto Paper’. The location will be maintained in its entirety; dismissals are not planned. The Wolfsheck paper mill was taken for a symbolic purchase price and free of bank liabilities and shareholder’s loans. The ARQUES managers, Holger Kowarsch and Dr. Christoph Barth, will take over the management of the company.
