Gigaset Communications GmbH expands smartphone business and terminates
market transaction agreement with Goldin
Munich, December 14th 2016 - On December 14, 2016 the
company decided to expand the "smartphone" segment. In the future, the
company also wants to cooperate with partners outside the Goldin-Group to
produce smartphones marketed under the "Gigaset" trademark.
In order to maintain the unrestricted availability of the "Gigaset"
trademark, the on June 25th, 2015 concluded but not yet administered Asset
Purchase Agreement relating to the "Gigaset" trademark portfolio ("Brand
Transaction Agreement") between Goldin Brand Pte. Ltd. and Gigaset
Communications GmbH shall be terminated.
Therefore Gigaset Communications GmbH remains unrestricted owner of the
"Gigaset" trademark. The company is free to cooperate with partners outside
the Goldin-Group to expand the smartphone business, opening up new growth
areas.
