The issuer has the sole responsibility of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Baden-Baden, April 3, 2001: GRENKELEASING AG reports new business amounting to a volume of EUR 53.5m (DM 104.6m) in Q1 2001. This corresponds to a growth in new business of 44.6 % compared to the same period of the previous year. GRENKELEASING AG, the market leader for small-ticket IT leasing in Germany, was able to post a renewed very dynamic growth in new business for Q1 2001. The first three months of the current financial year saw the generation of new business i.e. the sum of acquisition costs for new leasing contracts amounting to a volume of EUR 53.5m (Q1 2000: EUR 37.0m). Earnings generated by new business largely accrue during the term of the leasing contracts over a period of approx. three years following conclusion of the contracts. Particularly GRENKELEASINGs foreign subsidiaries contributed to this positive trend, such growth being purely attributable to the organic growth of the said GRENKE subsidiaries. The business operations of the recently acquired company Mauden SpA, Milan, have not yet been integrated. GRENKELEASING maintains 14 domestic branch offices as well as 5 foreign branch offices. Two of these lie in France, one in Switzerland, one in Austria, and one in Italy. The management team continues to be confident and optimistic about the future of the company. The company, which has now been listed on the Neuer Markt (market segment for high-growth companies at Deutsche Boerse AG) for a year, will publish its detailed quarterly report on May 15, 2001.
