Ahlers AG: results for the third quarter and for the first nine months of fiscal 2005/06

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Ahlers AG today announced the results for the third quarter and for the first nine months of fiscal 2005/06 (December 1, 2005 – November 30, 2006), In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, Ahlers AG generated sales of EUR 224.4 million (previous year: EUR 239.5 million). The decline in sales is mainly due to the sale of the eterna Group effective June 30, 2006. As a result of this significant non-recurring income as well as non-recurring charges, the results of ordinary activities for the first nine months increased considerably from the prior year’s EUR 16.8 million to EUR 82.7 million. Earnings after taxes also rose, from EUR 9.7 million to EUR 79.1 million. The sale of the eterna Group led to extraordinary profits of approx. EUR 78.0 million. In addition, the one-time effects resulted in special depreciation on trademark rights and on buildings in Germany and abroad totaling EUR 7.4 million based on impairment tests. Due to the sale of the eterna Group as of June 30, 2006, the Group does not anticipate that sales revenues for fiscal 2005/06 as a whole will increase from the previous year. Net income as of November 30, 2006 will also be characterized by the high sales proceeds generated for the eterna Group.
