Following the calculation of income tax (including deferred taxes), the Telekom Slovenije Group generated a net profit of EUR 47.9 million, an increase of 3% relative to the same period in 2024.
We will ensure 99% coverage with 5G technology
The Telekom Slovenije Group earmarked EUR 135.4 million for investments during the first nine months of the year. Telekom Slovenije operates the largest fixed and mobile network in Slovenia, with more than 498,500 Slovenian households connected to its fibre optic network. The Company is laying the foundations for further development by constantly upgrading and modernising the entire network with the latest technologies, strengthening its competitive advantage and putting in place technological support for the continued provision of secure, reliable and modern telecommunications services that meet the latest trends and user expectations. It covers 99% of the population with 4G technology, which it continues to improve, while more than 93% of the population is now covered by 5G technology. Telekom Slovenije has built a position of superior quality through several years of prudent and systematic investments in its mobile network, as evidenced by five prestigious international Speedtest Awards from Ookla, the leading global company for testing internet connections. Those awards were received by Telekom Slovenije in October 2025 for the Best Mobile Network, Fastest Mobile Network, Best Coverage Network, Best Gaming Experience Network and Best Video Experience Network. Telekom Slovenije will ensure that 99% of the population will be covered by 5G technology in 2025.
We are striving for balanced regulation
Telekom Slovenije is currently the only operator in Slovenia that is regulated by the Agency for Communication Networks and Services (AKOS) in the fixed broadband internet access segment, despite the fact that it is no longer the leading operator in the aforementioned segment, where its market share is just 28.6% (source: Q2 2025 AKOS). Telekom Slovenije also has a significantly lower market share than other incumbent European operators. A comparative analysis of the regulation of incumbent operators in EU countries indicates a trend of deregulation of telecommunication operators. Telekom Slovenije thus operates in an environment in which excessive and disproportionate regulation hinders its development potential. All current lawsuits filed by operators derive from the misinterpretation of Telekom Slovenije’s position on the market, which is artificially maintained as dominant on account of regulation. Such an environment creates legal uncertainty and increases operating costs, which has a negative impact on Telekom Slovenije’s profit. Telekom Slovenije will continue to pursue its Strategic Business Plan with the aim of providing users state-of-the-art, secure and reliable services. For this reason, Telekom Slovenije will continue its efforts to achieve balanced regulation based on actual market conditions.
This announcement will also be available on the Company’s website (www.telekom.si) for a period of no less than 10 years from the date of publication.
