Mit einem lachenden und einem weinenden Auge schaut die telegate AG, München, auf die Prognose für die Geschäftszahlen des laufenden Jahres: Das Kerngeschäft des Unternehmens, die telefonischen Informationsdienste, ist weiterhin sehr erfolgreich. Hier wird die telegate AG auch im Jahr 2000 ein deutlich positives Ergebnis erzielen. Im Auslandsgeschäft und beim Aufbau des Internet- Service-Portals aber bremsen Startschwierigkeiten die Umsatz- und Ertragsentwicklung. Der Umsatz der telegate AG im Geschäftsjahr 2000 wird voraussichtlich um 55 Prozent auf rund 270 Millionen Mark wachsen. 1999 betrug der Umsatz 173,5 Millionen Mark. Einen Netto-Gewinn erwartet das Unternehmen für das laufende Geschäftsjahr allerdings nicht. Der Vorstand geht derzeit von einem Verlust in Höhe von rund achtzehn Millionen Mark aus. Die telegate AG wird das Geschäftsjahr 2000 jedoch mit nur einem leicht negativen Ergebnis vor Steuern, Zinsen und Abschreibungen (EBITDA) abschließen. It is with a mixture of tears of joy and sorrow that the Board of Management of telegate AG, Munich, views the prognosis for the business results of the current year. The company’s core field of business – telephone directory inquiry services – continues to be highly successful and telegate AG will once again achieve a thoroughly positive result in this segment. In the field of foreign business and in connection with the establishment of the company’s internet service portal, however, start-up difficulties mean the revenue and profit figures are not developing as well as originally predicted. In the business year 2000, the revenues of telegate AG are likely to increase by 55 percent to around DM 270 million. In 1999, they amounted to DM 173.5 million. Despite this increase, the company is not expecting to achieve a net profit. At present, the Board of Management anticipates a loss of around DM 18 million. Nevertheless, telegate AG will finish the business year 2000 with only a slightly negative result before taxes, interest and depreciation (EBITDA).
