Issuer’s information/explanatory remarks concerning this ad-hoc-announcement:
In the first six months 2002, in Germany as well as in the other European
markets, telegate scored some important strategic successes. In Germany, the
telephone service providers debitel and talkline entrusted the whole DA-service
for their twelve million mobile phone customers to 11880. The short-term goal is
to cooperate also with other German telephone providers. With the continuous
optimisation of its own call centers the cost structure can be improved on a
steady basis. In Spain and Great Britain, after intense regulatory battles,
telegate finally obtained the requested numbers for the own branded service. In
Italy, the company now works on the operational level much closer together with
the strategic partner SEAT Pagine Gialle. First results are visible: The Italian
subsidiary of telegate could redouble its turnover to 2.5 million Euro in the
first half 2002 (1st half 2001: scarcely one million Euro). The operative result
(EBITDA) is positive.
In its home market, the 11880-DA-service provider will further extend its offer
in order to turn it even more attractive for mobile phone customers as well as
for fixed line customers. On a legal and regulatory level telegate continues to
fight against the monopoly position of Deutsche Telekom and the free offer of
their online DA-service. In Spain and Great Britain, the company works with high
pressure on its market entrance planned for the end of this year.
