The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– First quarter financial results – Foundation for profitable year 2003 laid Munich, May 5th, 2003 – telegate AG today announces a positive EBIT-result of 0,8 million Euro for the first quarter 2003, compared to an EBIT-loss of -3,0 million Euro for the same period in 2002. Earnings before taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) could be increased significantly up to 2,9 million Euro (same period 2002: 0,3 million Euro). The improvement of results is also reflected in the net loss, that has been substantially reduced from last year – 3,3 million Euro to this years only -0,3 million Euro. telegate-groups positive free cash flow totaled 1,8 million Euro (same period 2002: -5,5 million Euro) and has been used during the passed quarter to further reduce the net financial debt, which is now amounting to 22,0 million Euro (same period 2002: 64,7 million Euro). The European DA providers positive first-quarter results have been achieved despite a decreasing turnover of 26,5 million Euro (same period 2002: 30,6 million Euro). This has been mainly caused by an abandonment of non-profitable revenues from the companies US-business and decreasing revenues in Germany due to still tense situation in the local DA market. The expansion of telegates European business to Great Britain and Spain is proceeding according to plan; first relevant contribution to the groups turnover is expected for the current business quarter.
