This is an impressive and positive development in comparison to the same period in 2002, where the company posted a net loss of EUR 6.7 million. Parallel to this positive result is an increase in revenues to EUR 60.8 million in the first half-year 2003. EBITDA was also significantly increased by 95%, to EUR 8.0 million (PY: EUR 4.1 million). In the first six months of 2003, the telegate Group generated a positive free cash flow of EUR 8.1 million (PY: EUR -9.8 million). During the reporting period the companys net financial debt was reduced by EUR 9.7 million and is EUR 14.7 million as of 30 June 2003 (PY: EUR 63 million). The second quarter of 2003 has been a decisive one in the development of telegate. Sales revenues for the second quarter totalled EUR 34.3 million, a 30% increase over the first quarter of 2003. EBITDA reached an all-time high of EUR 5.1 million, with net income of EUR 1.4 million being generated. These results reflect a positive growth trend on the European markets as well as ongoing optimisation processes within the company. During the second quarter of 2003, another milestone in the companys young history was achieved: With the 11 8 11 as number and brand, telegate AG started its own branded directory enquiries service in Spain. For the very start, there has been a pleasing contribution to sales revenues. In line with the German model, the company is positioning itself as the main challenger to the former monopolist, laying the foundation for telegate AGs development as the leading European voice portal.
