(pr.y.: EUR 180.6 mil.), EBIT EUR 20.3 mil.(pr. y.: EUR 44.3 mil.), EBT EUR 22.0 mil. (pr.y.: EUR 47.1 mil.), consolidated net income EUR 14.9 mil. (pr. y.: EUR 27.1 mil.). Earnings per share EUR 0.23 (pr.y.: EUR 0.42), return on sales after tax 12.6% (pr.y.: 15.0%) and return on equity 76.2% (pr.y.: 58.7%). Q3: revenues EUR 35.3 mil.(pr.y.: EUR 61.9 mil.), EBIT EUR 4.6 mil.(pr.y.: EUR 15.8 mil.), EBT EUR 5.0 mil.(pr.y.: EUR 16.7 mil.), consolidated net income EUR 4.6 mil.(pr.y.: EUR 10.6 mil.). Earnings per share EUR 0.07 (pr. y.: EUR 0.16), return on sales after tax 13.0% (pr.y.: 17.1%). Despite positive medium to long term market prospects AIXTRON customers are still only cautiously expanding their production capacities with more evident cash pressures arising from the uncertain economic environment. New orders in Q3 were EUR 23 mil. (pr. y.: EUR 31 mil.). Order backlog: EUR 105 mil. (pr.y.: EUR 143 mil.). Book-to-bill ratio for systems business: 0.79. Whilst the AIXTRON Executive Board is confident of the company’s ability to achieve the forecast shipments, they acknowledge that in the current economic climate there is an increased risk of delayed revenue associated with potential late payments by customers and the subsequent impact on the top and bottom line revenue figure. Therefore AIXTRON now expect that for year 2002 revenue will be in the range of EUR 150 – 160 mil.(pr.y.: EUR 240.0 mil.) and net income will be in the range of EUR 17 – 20 mil.(pr.y.: EUR 33.6 mil.).
