Schwarz takes office – Total operating revenues DM 22.2 million, annual revenues on course at DM 53.4 million Frankfurt am Main, August 18, 2000 – Hunzinger Information AG, which is listed on the stock exchange and until 1999 was primarily involved in public relations and opinion research, took a step towards becoming one of the world’s leading providers of digital press photos and photofeatures. The “reorientation of Hunzinger Information AG towards words, images and online transport”, which was announced at the General Meeting on June 2, follows the company’s acquisition of a majority interest in action press. In order to implement this strategy, the Supervisory Board of Hunzinger Information AG established a specific Executive Board position with responsibility for the future. The former BP Managing Board member and former head of Bertelsmann’s New Media business unit, Dr. rer. nat. Ingo A. Schwarz, who is based in Hamburg joined the Executive Board as of August 1. The “Knowledge Share on the Neuer Markt”, which was originally founded in the form of Hunzinger PR GmbH 21 years ago, intends to offer its shares to a wider, more integrated group of investors and to place them more internationally. 1999 was the best fiscal year in the company’s history (earnings of DM 6 million, revenues of DM 44.9 million, dividend more than doubled). Total operating revenues DM 22.2 million, annual revenues on course at DM 53.4 million In the first half of 2000 we were able to repeat the previous year’s encouraging revenues, generating DM 19.7 million. Consolidated total operating revenues (sales revenues plus services not yet invoiced) increased by around 6 percent to DM 22.2 million. Our subsidiaries “infas” Institut für angewandte Sozialwissenschaft GmbH (Institute for Applied Sociology, Bonn/Bad Godesberg) and action press gmbh & co. kg (Hamburg) are on course, contributing DM 4.5 million and DM 6.0 million respectively. Our focus on preferred customer groups in our PR business, which was announced at the beginning of the year, and the arrival of five high achievers, three of whom were specifically headhunted, caused revenues to flatten out temporarily in the second quarter. After a successful start to the first quarter, Public Relations and Political Communication generated sales totaling DM 11.6 million at the end of the first half. Based on orders contracted to date and planned orders, primarily in the PR area, consolidated revenues will increase substantially in the second half of the year to DM 31.2 million. With total revenues of DM 53.4 million, we have almost exactly achieved the forecast we made at the beginning of the year of DM 53.6 million (excluding acquisitions). The number of employees was 127 at the beginning of the year, and is now 121.
