Hunzinger Information AG (Frankfurt am Main) is enjoying a successful start to fiscal year 2001 after reporting disappointing results in 2000. According to the preliminary results for January reported by its operational companies, the Group will regain its growth and earnings power of recent years with planned consolidated revenues of DM 55 million and profit from ordinary activities of DM 4 million (excluding acquisitions). Hunzinger PR GmbH’s earnings before taxes amounted to around DM 400 thousand and those of Bildpresseagentur action press to DM 237 thousand; the Aktiengesellschaft’s costs decreased to DM 200 thousand. At the end of January 2001, the booked business of the PR division amounted to DM 18 million and that of infas to DM 2.75 million. This means that together with action press’s planned revenues of DM 13.3 million, a total of DM 34 million contracts are now secure at Group level. The current booked business in the PR division is accompanied by consolidated revenues of DM 8.1 million recorded for the month of January, which partly relate to services for the coming months due to the typical types of contract for PR events. Mainly one-off effects in 2000 led to Hunzinger’s first-ever negative IAS result of DM 4.4 million According to the preliminary figures for fiscal year 2000, Hunzinger Information AG will close the year with total revenues of DM 44.9 million (1999; also DM 44.9 million) resulting in a negative IAS result of DM 4.4 million (1999: DM 3.0 million). Following the excellent result in fiscal year 1999 and the good result in fiscal year 1998, fiscal 2000 results were depressed by bad debt losses of DM 2 million, particularly in relation to the new economy customers, one-off costs of DM 1.5 million for the capital increase implemented in spring, redundancy payments, the strategic Group reorientation and the complete expansion of the Hunzinger PR GmbH network in the developing Eastern European countries, action press did not perform an extraordinary write-down of its image portfolio. infas: Continued stabile revenue and earnings growth Bonn/Bad Godesberg-based infas Institut für angewandte Sozialwissenschaft GmbH’s revenues and income were on target in 2000 – with total operating revenues of DM 10.0 million (1999: DM 7.9 million) earnings before taxes of DM 449 thousand (1999: DM 373 thousand) were generated. With a return on sales of 4.5%, the company continued its upward trend of previous years and generated record results for the Market, Public Opinion Research division. The January figures which have now been analyzed underline infas’s continued revenue and earnings growth. The company plans to generate revenues of at least DM 10.0 million with earnings before taxes of at least DM 500 thousand during the current fiscal year 2001. Hunzinger Public Relations GmbH focusing on PR activities The investments in the Eastern European PR network are making a positive contribution to operating income in the current fiscal year.
