Dr Gero Scholz brings new energy to the Management of IVU Traffic Technolologies
The 47-year-old IT manager with Dresdner Bank joins the Berlin software company,
where he will be in charge of product development.
IVU’s Supervisory Board decided today to appoint Dr Gero Scholz to the
Management Board, effective 1 February 2004. The other board members are Prof Dr
Ernst Denert (chairman) and Dr Olaf Schemczyk. The 47-year-old business
administrator was recently Chief Information Officer (CIO) within the
Transaction Banking division of Dresdner Bank and managed a major project for
equities transaction. In his earlier capacity as head of the IT department, Dr
Scholz was responsible for the development of many IT applications of the third-
largest German bank. “I am happy both personally and for IVU that we were able
to attract as outstanding an IT expert as Gero Scholz,” says IVU CEO Prof Dr
Ernst Denert.
Dr Scholz has many years of experience as an executive in the fields of software
development and project management. After studying operations research and
logistics at the Munich Ludwig Maximilian University, he spent ten years with
the Munich-based software company sd&m AG, where he worked closely with Denert.
His duties included managing major software projects for Deutsche Bahn and
Lufthansa. He also established the company’s Financial Information Systems
division.
As the new member of IVU’s Management Board, Dr Gero Scholz will be in charge of
developing the company’s software platform for all public transport
requirements. His priorities will be to increase software development efficiency
and further improve IVU’s systems. There are plans to develop the individual
platform modules for the successful MICROBUS planning and scheduling system so
that they will work together more smoothly in the future. Dr Scholz will also
give the systems a definite international orientation.
Martin Kammler, who currently heads among others the software development
segment for public transport companies, will take over IVU’s international
business. He will also coordi-nate the regional companies in the United Kingdom,
Benelux countries, France and Italy.
