The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Syskron wins logistics order from the Milchwerke Berchtesgadener Land dairy in Piding The dairy producer Milchwerke Berchtesgadener Land Chiemgau eG in Piding, Bavaria, is investing in a new warehouse logistics project. Syskron GmbH – a subsidiary of Krones AG – has been commissioned to create a high-bay warehouse with a capacity of approx. 6,400 pallet slots, and link it up to the existing warehouse structure. The client, a well-established vendor on the premium market for milk and dairy products, has opted here for an all-inclusive single-sourced job. “We’re proud of our subsidiary Syskron, whose expert knowledge and can-do professionalism convinced BLG-Milchwerke to give them the order”, so Volker Kronseder, Board Chairman of Krones AG. The material flow engineering involved covers the entire spectrum of present-day pallet conveyor design, with vertical transfer units and distribution carriages all the way through to an electric overhead conveyor and computerised management. All the stops have been pulled out when it came to statics and architecture. For example, an approximately 150-metre-long, almost self- supporting connection bridge is being built in complete trussed construction as a transport link between the new and existing high-bay warehouses. In addition to the mechanical components, the existing material flow and control structure, plus the inventory management system’s IT technology, are supplied. The project’s remit also includes modifying the transport flows of the individual conveyor systems in the existing facility, enabling them to cope with the new system’s capacity requirements as well. Early in 2003, the dairy firm will thus receive a state-of-the-art distribution system in its warehouse, optimally matched to its wishes and requirements.
