Increase in Turnover in November – Good Start of Christmas Trade
Munich, December 8th 2005 – In November 2005 LUDWIG BECK (ISIN DE0005199905)
increased cross turnover of last year by 1.1 % to 9.8 (9.7) million EUR. On a
like-for-like-basis growth in turnover in November amounts to 3.5 %. Thus
sales developed – as also during the last months – at the upper end of our
expectations.
According to TextilWirtschaft the textile retail branch shows an increase in
turnover of 1.0 % in the month of November. This means that in this month
again LUDWIG BECK continued to realize a development in turnover above that of
the textile sector.
Within the period January 1st to November 30th 2005 turnover at LUDWIG BECK
increased by 1.0 % to 88.3 (87.4) million EUR. Adjusted to sales area this
means an increase of 2.9 %. For this space of time the textile sector suffered
a decrease of 1.0 %.
We succeeded in having an excellent start with our Christmas trade. Turnover
develops better than last year. Due to the fact that turnover lies beyond our
expectations we raise the expected EBIT to 5.3 – 5.5 million EUR (previously
5.2 – 5.4 million EUR). In 2004 we achieved an EBIT amounting to 3.3 million
EUR.
LUDWIG BECK is looking forward to 2006. We anticipate further increase in
turnover on a like-for-like basis as well as a repeated profit improvement.
