AC-Service Plans Expanding Operations with SAP Business ByDesign
New »off-the-rack« product enhancing the current »bespoke SAP line.«
Favourable resumé during presentation in New York. Decisive step toward
industrialising software applications benefits the use of SAP in small to
mid-sized enterprises. Scepticism about on-demand products reaching a
turning point. Role of leading SAP midmarket partners reinforced.
Stuttgart, 21 September 2007 – On-demand solutions within the midmarket
sector have so far only covered what are mostly sub-areas such as customer
relationship management (CRM), and that with only a moderate degree of
success. »This should change forever now that SAP Business ByDesign has
been introduced,« reported the new AC-Service board spokesman Lars
Landwehrkamp on 19 September 2007 from the Nokia Theatre on New York’s Time
Square in conjunction with the grand premiere of SAP Business ByDesign.
Known prior to this under its code name »A1S«, SAP Business ByDesign is a
completely new type of business process solution that is provided over the
Internet under leasing models, and which is geared primarily to companies
that have previously not been using any integrated business software and
require neither industry functionalities with the related functional depth
nor any specific extensions. Landwehrkamp, who as managing director of the
AC-Service subsidiary All for One, was involved right from the start in the
development of Business ByDesign’s go-to-market strategy and as such was
the only SAP partner from Germany attending the event in New York on 19
September, estimates »that there are more than 12,000 companies in
countries where German in spoken that are either still operating without
any integrated business applications, or are difficult to get through to
even with the existing Business All-in-One solutions, as they are now
called, and despite their extensive industry-specific defaults. This is
where we will leverage Business ByDesign.« Landwehrkamp continues by
pointing out that a decisive cornerstone for the success of SAP Business
ByDesign may well be »the relationship between SAP and selected partners,
who themselves have their own partner channels as multipliers and can
already point to extensive experience with on-demand-like SAP software
services. As an outsourcing partner, we have tremendous experience in
operating and support issues, as well as in on-demand services in
specialised fields such as human resources. What’s more, we are considered
as being extremely strong on sales and enjoy a large partner network to go
along with it.« The roots of All for One lie in the sales of software
licenses.
