Masterflex AG and Hawk Bikes develop transport vehicles powered by fuel cells
Gelsenkirchen, January 28, 2005. Gelsenkirchen-based Masterflex AG (ISIN DE
0005492938) and Hawk Bikes E&M GmbH, Berlin, will cooperate to develop an
innovative transport vehicle.
The target of the cooperation is the development of cargobikes (bicycles for
the transport of smaller load), which are supplied with Masterflex’ fuel cells
and an innovative power supply.
Hawk Bikes is a successful company developing spezialised und customised bike
solutions. Masterflex and Hawk Bikes see a substantial market potential.
Hydrogen infra-structure and cartridge technology shall already be available
in the middle of 2005, thus being the basis for an area-wide application of
cargobikes. The joined project is co-financed by the European fonds for
Regional Development (EFRE) and The land Northrhine-Westphalia.
Both companies are very confident that the cooperation will contribute to a
successful market entry of fuel cell systems.
Already in the year 2005 the first marketable cargobikes shall be presented to
the public.
