Januar 2000 –Die neue Bibliothek, genannt HuCAL-Fab basiert auf der bewaehrten HuCAL Technologie. Sie enthaelt mehr als 10 Milliarden einzigartige menschliche Antikoerper, in einem Format (Fab), das sich besonders gut zur Entwicklung von Therapeutika eignet. MorphoSys informiert ausserdem ueber den Abschluss einer Lizenzvereinbarung mit dem Biotechnologie-Unternehmen Biosite Diagnostics Incorporated (NASDAQ: Bste), mit Sitz in San Diego, Kalifornien. Durch diese Lizenz erhaelt MorphoSys Zugang zu Patenten, die das Screening von Fab-Antikoerperbibliotheken schuetzen. Die Vereinbarung mit Biosite erlaubt sowohl die Entwicklung von Antikoerpern als Therapeutika, als auch die Verwendung fuer Forschungszwecke. Zusaetzlich zur eigenen Anwendung kann MorphoSys seinen kommerziellen Partnern und Anwendern von HuCAL-Fab Unterlizenzen fuer die Biosite Technologie vergeben. MORPHOSYS RELEASES NEW ANTIBODY LIBRARY, HUCAL- FAB Martinsried / Munich, — January 10, 2000 — The Munich-based biotechnology company, today announced the release of a novel antibody library based on its proprietary HuCAL antibody technology. The new library, named HuCAL-Fab, uses the Fab antibody format, and contains more than 10 billion unique, human antibodies, specifically well suited for antibody drug development. Fab is the part of an antibody which recognises and binds the target molecule. In parallel, MorphoSys entered a licence agreement with Biosite Diagnostics Incorporated (NASDAQ: Bste), based in San Diego, California, providing MorphoSys access to patents covering Fab and multi-chain antibody libraries. The agreement with Biosite permits MorphoSys to develop antibodies as therapeutics and to use the technology as a research tool in all of its research and drug development programmes.
