Februar 2000 – MorphoSys ist es gelungen, eine Serie von humanen Antikoerpern fuer GPC zu entwickeln, die, wie GPC bestaetigt hat, bestimmte Krebszellen zerstoeren. Dieser Meilenstein ist der erste Schritt zur Entwicklung eines potentiell hochwirksamen Medikaments gegen die Krebsarten Lymphom und Leukaemie. Damit ist ein Teil der Kriterien der Zusammenarbeit erfuellt und MorphoSys erhaelt eine Meilensteinzahlung von GPC ueber deren Hoehe keine Angaben gemacht wurden. Dieser Meilenstein zeigt, dass HuCAL keineswegs nur ein hervorragendes Forschungsinstrument ist, sondern auch eine reiche Quelle fuer die Entwicklung neuer Medikamente im Kampf gegen Erkrankungen wie Krebs. MORPHOSYS AG AND GPC AG ANNOUNCE MILESTONE IN SEARCH FOR NEW CANCER THERAPY Martinsried / Munich, — February 14, 2000 — MorphoSys has delivered to GPC a series of human antibodies which GPC confirmed efficiently destroy specific cancer cells. The milestone is the first step towards the development of a potentially powerful drug for the treatment of lymphoma and leukaemia. The first stage of the research is completed with the accomplishment of the milestone and the associated milestone payment from GPC to MorphoSys. No financial terms were disclosed. The achievement of this milestone proves that HuCAL, in addition to being a powerful research instrument, is also a rich and promising source of antibodies for the development of new medications against diseases such as cancer.
