Maerz 2000 — Die MorphoSys AG steigerte den Umsatz 1999 um 21 Prozent von 8,9 Millionen Mark auf 10,8 Millionen Mark. Die umfangreichen Investitionen in Hoehe von 17,7 Millionen Mark wurden fuer den zentralen Unternehmensbereich Forschung & Entwicklung sowie den Ausbau der Vertriebs- und Infrastruktur des Unternehmens getaetigt. Die Aufwendungen fuehren zu einem negativen Ergebnis der betrieblichen Leistung in Hoehe von 6,9 Millionen Mark. Der Jahresfehlbetrag liegt mit 7,5 Millionen Mark (Comprehensive Loss von 6,5 Millionen Mark) besser als geplant (Vorjahr: -2,2 Millionen Mark). Das Ergebnis pro Aktie des seit Maerz letzten Jahres am Neuen Markt notierten Unternehmens betraegt -2,22 Mark. MORPHOSYS 1999 YEAR-END RESULTS SHOW A 21 PERCENT TURNOVER INCREASE Martinsried/Munich, –March 22, 2000– MorphoSys AG increased its turnover by 21 per cent in 1999, from DM 8.9 million to DM 10.8 million. During the past year the biotech company has geared up for the future, with significant investment of DM 17.7 million devoted to the core Research & Development division and to expanding the Sales and Administration infrastructure. The expenditure was reflected in a negative result of ordinary activities of DM 6.9 million. The net loss for the year is DM 7.5 million (Comprehensive Loss DM 6.5 million) (previous year: – DM 2.2 million).
